Agritech branding: making Telluris Biotech trustworthy to the person in the field
Crop science is built in labs and bought in fields. The brand has to be credible in both places.

Agritech is one of the most interesting spaces in Indian startup branding, and one of the hardest. The science behind a crop-care product may be sophisticated, but the person deciding whether to buy it is often a farmer or a dealer who has seen a hundred products promise the same thing. An agritech brand has to earn trust from two very different directions at once.
Telluris Biotech is a research-driven agri-biotech company in Hyderabad, founded in 2015, with a range of patented, eco-friendly crop-care products, including Kheth Set, Kheth Maxx, Nema Fasak and Nemanol. Our work spanned the brand, website content, a company presentation and product label content.
A name grounded in the earth
Telluris takes its root from Tellus, the Latin word for the earth. It's a strong, scientific-sounding name, which is an asset with investors and distributors. The identity's job was to keep that credibility while making the company feel grounded, practical and close to the soil.
A lab can prove a product works. Only a brand can make someone believe it will work for them.

Product names that speak the farmer's language
One of the smartest things about the range is its naming. "Kheth" means field, so Kheth Set and Kheth Maxx speak directly to the people who will use them. That gave us a clear principle for the product labels: lead with the local name, support it with clear science, and never make the user decode jargon.
Label content was organised so that the most important information, what the product does, which crops it suits and how to use it, reads first and clearly. Technical details sit below in a consistent structure across the range.

If a farmer understands the label, an investor will understand the deck.
Five words for the whole company
We also wrote the line that sits under the mark: Protecting What The World Sows. It had to say what Telluris does without sounding like a lab report. Protecting is the science. Sowing is the farmer. The world is the ambition. A good tagline is a company description short enough to remember.

Names we gave the range
Two of the products carry names we created: Kheth Rakshak, a foliar spray against sucking pests, and Nema Fasak, a drench for nematodes. Both follow the same rule as the rest of the range. A farmer should be able to say the name once and ask for it by name at the counter.
A label system that scales
Every bottle in the range shares one grid: the TB mark at the top, a single colour band carrying the product name, crop photography cut into triangles, and the benefits listed in plain words. Only the band colour changes. That one decision lets a dealer tell Kheth Maxx from Kheth Rakshak, Nema Fasak or Golf Green from across the shop.
The science behind it is serious. Telluris holds a USEPA Biochemical Classification, and its founder, Venu Polineni, has said it is the world's first True Bio-Nematicide to be referred by the Biochemical Classification Committee. The brand's job is to make that credibility legible to a farmer in a single glance.
One voice across website, deck and label
Startups often end up with a website written for investors, a deck written for distributors and labels written by a regulatory checklist. We treated all three as one conversation. The website content, product pages and presentation share the same vocabulary, the same order of ideas and the same tone: confident, plain and respectful of the reader's expertise.
What agritech founders can take from this
Write for the field first. If a farmer can understand your label, an investor will understand your deck.
Keep the science, drop the jargon. Credibility comes from clarity, not from complexity.
Name products in the user's language. Local names build familiarity faster than any logo.
Make every touchpoint agree. Consistent language across web, sales and packaging is itself a signal of reliability.
Branding for Hyderabad's science startups
Hyderabad has one of India's strongest life-sciences and biotech ecosystems, and a growing number of agritech startups emerging from it. Many are founded by scientists with genuinely strong products. The challenge is usually not the science. It's explaining that science to distributors, dealers and farmers who have little time and plenty of scepticism.
Good branding for a science startup is, above all, good translation. It turns lab language into field language without losing accuracy. A clear name, readable labels and a consistent message across every channel help a young company look established, which matters enormously when it's asking customers to trust a product with their harvest.
